The Niagara Falls is located on the American and Canadian border. It consists of three sets of waterfalls namely the Horseshoe Falls located in Ontario, Canadaand Bridal Veil Falls & American Falls located in New York, America. To enjoy the splendor of all three of these you will need proper travel documents to both America and Canada.
A two day vacation is ideal to enjoy the major highlights of Niagara Falls. Depending upon your place of stay you can reach the falls either by road or by taking a flight to the nearest airport and then driving down to see the falls
On the first day you can take a cruise boat ride known as the Maid of the Mist which is available on both the American & Canadian sides. They take the passengers into the Niagara Gorge so that you can see the falls at a close range. It is advisable to wear the plastic poncho provided to you and carry a spare set of clothes because you are likely to get drenched during the ride. After this you can take an elevator 175 feet down to the Cave of the winds which is a natural windy cave. You can use the wooden decks and platforms to reach the base of the Bridal Veil Falls. Also, if you are on the Canadian side you should experience the Journey Behind the Falls which is an attraction consisting of platforms and tunnels that enable a breathtaking view of the Horseshoe Falls from the base. The White Water Walk along the Niagara Parkway is also worth a visit.
You can start your second day with a visit to the Niagara Falls Museum to get an insight into the history of the area. If adventure appeals to you then you can either opt for a Whirlpool Jet Tour on the Niagara River or go for a hike in Niagaras Glen. You can also so zip lining across the Falls. Later in the day you can travel over to the Niagara wineries and engage yourself in wine tasting while taking in the magnificent view of the surrounding hills and vines. If you still have the time you can go exploring the famous downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake. Alternatively, if you are accompanied by children , you can visit the Clifton Hill and go to Marine Land. Try to explore as much you can there.
